The new world of Biometrics Security is being rolled out. Biometric is the best less hackable alternative for us to protect our data from the trespassing of others. But we're not setting ourselves up for a new level of identity theft. After all, each new biometric security that's rolled out is quickly bypassed by hackers using just some simple techniques.
There are certain ways by which one can easily bypass the Biometric Security without the concern of that particular.
For an example, Iris Scanning Authentication can be easily bypassed by using Google Images but there are some criteria of that image. The image should be a very clear and high-resolution image. An image of a bright eye makes the chances of bypassing the system more because Iris recognition system works with Infrared Light. Only the 75% of the target's Iris needs to be visible in the photos to fool the security. Not only that but you wouldn't believe that only 75 Pixels of Iris diameter is necessary to be printed out with a resolution of 1200 DPI for this type of hack.
Now if we talk about the Fingerprint Scanning authentication, that can also be bypassed with less simple trick than the Iris Scanning. In December 2016, a man managed to create a clone of a thumbprint of the German Defence Minister (Ursula Von Der Leyen) by just using photos the Politician's hand.
This is not we are talking about Professional Hackers, you just need to have a minimum knowledge of how this works and that's it. Obviously, Biometrics are better than any password authentication but they are not that much safe that we think it is.
A bunch of new Biometric Security is being rolled out from scanning your fingerprint, Iris scanning, measuring your heart rate, your vain, and even the way you hold your smartphone.
You can think that these systems take your identification uniquely but you may be wrong. Because now you can imagine how easily a non-hacker also can hack your biometric lock by just downloading one of your high-resolution photo from your Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. So, be aware what you do because even if you have Biometric Authentication, that could also be bypassed.
