YouTube, a Global video sharing platform where we enjoy the videos and music we love, a platform that gives us the opportunity to showcase some of the great talents around the world.
YouTube is one of the most used websites on a daily basis. We all see it everyday in the same interface but there's a dark mode in YouTube that you can enable and change the interface of your YouTube experience completely.
Dark Mode has not yet been officially announced as it is in the test mode with some other features coming with this website. But thanks to a Reddit Post for sharing the information of how you turn on your Youtube Dark Mode. I tested it in Chrome & Firefox only and it worked like a charm. You can also give it a try and use it for your own.
Here's how you enable it -
Step 1 - First make sure your browser is upto date. I prefer Chrome (Version 57.0.2987.133) for this.
Step 2 - Just open any page in YouTube and open the Developer Console Window by using the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + I and go to Console Tab.
Step 3 - Just copy and paste the following code and hit enter
Code :
var cookieDate = new Date();
cookieDate.setFullYear(cookieDate.getFullYear( ) + 1);
document.cookie="VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=fPQ4jCL6EiE; expires=" +
cookieDate.toGMTString( ) + "; path=/";
Step 4 - Close the Developer Window and do a refresh. Now click on your avatar (if signed in) and you can see a Dark Mode option. Click the option and a toggle switch will pop up. You just have to activate the Dark mode.
A small Tip - This is just we are setting a cookie. So if you don't like the interface and want to go back to your normal YouTube, all you have to do is clear your cookies. Doing those above steps will give you the dark mode again if want.
